Above that, there is nearly no ageing of the medium in the long term and no loss of data either.At present there is no digital storage that is able to achieve even nearly such a long durability. For that reason, despite of the tremendously fast development of digital storage methods, we cannot imagine preservation of archivals and library material without microfilming in the future.
